Location:
On the southeastern coast of the Dominican Republic, in the sugar-town of La Romana,

Getting Here By Air or By Sea:
Fly right to the Casa de Campo / La Romana International Airport (code: LRM) is serviced by major carriers around the world. From the US, American Airlines (AA)
provides daily non-stop service from Miami just 10 minutes from Casa de Campo.
Beginning Dec. 21, 2002, AA will begin once a week (Saturday’s) non- stop flights from NY’s JFK airport right to the Casa de Campo Airport. American Eagle
flies to this airport daily non-stop service from San Juan.
Las Americas International Airport in Santo Domingo and Punta Cana International Airport
are a 75 minute-drive from Casa de Campo and features daily service from major cities
around the world.
Casa de Campo Marina & Yacht Club is located at the mouth of the Chavon River and
Caribbean Sea, within the confines of the resort. Private Yachts cruising the Caribbean
can contact the Marina in advance and reserve a slip for their stay. Way point for harbor
entrance: Latitude 18 degrees 23.9 North and Longitude 68 degrees, 54.2 West.
Beginning November 2002 , construction will begin at the Marina to add another 190
slips to this popular new facility of the resort. The new slips should be ready, November
2004.
Casa de Campo Pier. On the opposite end of the resort from the Marina & Yacht Club is a new
pier, where commercial cruise lines can dock and their passengers can enjoy the world-
class adventures of the Caribbean’s Most Complete Resort.
Accommodations - 300 spacious hotel rooms and 150 luxurious villa homes
Guest Rooms: - All hotel rooms feature one king or two double beds; air-conditioning, large
walk-in closet with in-room safe; iron and ironing board; dressing and vanity area with
hair-dryer and bath amenities; mini-bar and coffee maker; color cable television with
remote control, clock-radio/alarm, direct-dial, touch-tone telephones with voice mail and
data port and a private terrace overlooking the gardens.

The Standard, Superior and Luxury Rooms are in one-story clusters, surrounded by colorful
flower gardens while the luxury rooms are in two-story clusters with splendid views of
the lush grounds or Pete Dye’s championship golf courses. Our Luxury Rooms are
decorated in stylish Caribbean elegance, with rich mahogany furniture and fine fabrics in
soft tones, cozy integrated seating area; completely new, tiled bathroom; glass doors to
private terrace with beautiful views, and louvered mahogany sliding panels for privacy.
Luxury rooms feature two direct dial telephones, bedside and on writing desk, with voice-
mail and data port; Serta pillow-top comfort; marble-toped vanity area, with lighted
make-up mirror and luxury bath amenities package.

All room categories also include: an armoire with cable television and Bose Wave radio
providing 31 satellite channels of commercial-free music. While only Luxury Rooms
additionally provide lighted make-up mirror and bathrobes for use during stay.

The Suites feature all the amenities found in the Luxury Room plus… a separate living room and
dining room area, queen sofa-sleeper, two bathrooms including a master bath with
a marble whirlpool tub and separate shower!

Villas -The resorts’ private villa homes are perfect for families and friends traveling together.
Located throughout the lush countryside, near the tennis club, and around the golf
courses offering all the comforts, conveniences and charm of a country home. Two-,
three- and four-bedroom villas offer a comfortable living room, dining room, fully
equipped kitchen and terrace. Each bedroom is air-conditioned with its own private bath.
Each villa has one master bedroom with a King or Queen size bed while the other
bedrooms have two double beds. Total number of beds per villa: three beds in a 2-
Bedroom villa, five beds in a 3-bedroom villa and seven beds in a 4-bedroom villa.
Rollaway are available for children only.
Beginning 2003, all Casa de Campo villa guests will enjoy made to order
breakfast each morning.

GolfThree 18-hole Pete Dye-designed courses:

  • “Teeth of the Dog,” the only course in the world with seven holes skirting the Caribbean Sea, is ranked by Golf Magazine among the finest resort courses in the Caribbean.
  • The “Links” is an inland, rolling course with water coming into play on five holes.
  • An outsize driving range and short game area provide ample practice facilities.
  • Clinics and individual lessons are available for players of any skill level. The courses regularly host international tournaments, including Casa de Campo’s three annual pro-ams.
  • “Dye Fore”... Pete Dye’s newest 18-hole masterpiece at Casa de Campo, opened Spring 2003 with views of the mountains, Sea, Chavon River below and Altos de Chavon artists’ village.

Tennis La Terraza Tennis Center was named the best tennis facility by the USPTR (United States Professional Tennis Registry), with pool and pro shop on a bluff overlooking the resort complex and Caribbean Sea

Shooting Center

  • An extensive private sporting clays facility, with over 100 stations
  • One of the Caribbean’s tallest towers, rising 110-feet into the sky.

  • For professionals and amateur shooters
  • Clinics and private lessons are available for beginner and experienced marksmen.
  • Shooters are welcomed to bring their own guns, however a Gun Permit Entry Form must be received at the resort 4 weeks prior to guest arrival. It is against the law to bring cartridges into the Dominican Republic.

Equestrian Center

  • Guided trail rides along various trails viewing golf courses, the Chavon River, sugar cane fields and Altos de Chavon.
  • Jumping and riding lessons for beginners and proficient riders
  • English or Western Riding
  • Ponies available for children too.

Polo

  • Played weekly from the November – May season
  • Three playing fields and two practice fields are available for lessons
  • Lessons are available for experienced and novice players.
  • Over 70 trained polo ponies and equipment for the player of any level.
  • “Donkey polo” is a favorite sport played by many guests in which all can ride “donkey’s” and hit a large ball -- to simulate the game of polo!
  • The Polo Club has hosted many international tournaments

Gym   Located near the pool in the central area of the hotel, and is open daily from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm.

  • Offers several work out areas including a principal cardiovascular area with walking, step machines.
  • Two additional cardiovascular areas with bicycles and a view of the main pool area
  • A stretching and abdominal area and a Tae Boxing area
  • An aerobic area with all types of corresponding equipment.

For those who enjoy walking, the first of several new blacktop walking trails should be completed in early 2003. This first trail is 3.1 miles in length.

Family Fun A wealth of opportunities for the entire family to enjoy time together. Pack up the kids and come for a wonderful Caribbean adventure. You will find daily family activities that provide an opportunity for your family to come together and play plus an opportunity to meet other families. You will also find programs for the kids, from the little ones… to the cool ones, Casa de Campo has it all for all your kids, to 18 years of age!

  • Kidz ‘n Casa is a year-round supervised program of activities for kids 4-12 that utilizes our fantastic sports facilities, the beach (of course), and the Altos de Chavon artists’ village. They even have their own clubhouse!
  • Casa Tweens, for 8-12 year olds, offers to them their “own brand of fun.” They’re off… to horseback riding, nature adventures, tennis volleys, donkey polo and water games! No grass grows under their feet, for their moving!
  • For teen travelers, Casa de Campo has Bonche for Teens, for 13-18 year olds to enjoy a teen-friendly clubhouse with comfy spaces to hang out, make new friends and have a blast. Complete with pool table, music karaoke, movies and more. At the beach, there’s a Teen Hut just for them!

Water Activities

Minitas Beach:

  • The resort’s private beach has fun activities such as snorkeling equipment, floating devices, windsurf boards, water bicycles, hobie cats (16’), kayaks, Banana boat and sunfish boats.
  • Excursions for up to eight people are organized in motorboats to the Chavon River, where guests can observe the beautiful coastline and golf courses.
  • Volleyball, beach-football, crab races, beach Olympics and sandcastle building contests are also offered for group activities.

Fishing:

  • Private marina has charter vessels for deep-sea fishing, river fishing and sailing. Marlin is the main catch on the ocean while on the Chavón River; championship snooker will challenge any angler!
  • Charters and catamarans are organized for excursions to Catalina Island (1/2 hour), as well as transports for up to 250 people.

Pools: 14 swimming pools are located throughout the resort and in the main area of the resort
you will find: a children’s pool, lap pool and the main pool features a waterfall and a swim-up bar!

Shops: In addition to the shops at Altos de Chavón, Casa de Campo boasts a number of international specialty shops in the main area managed by WH Smith and throughout the resort. In the Hotel Main Area there are two gift shops where diverse articles are sold, such as candies, pharmaceutical projects and the latest in resort fashion.

  • The specialized shops (Pro Shops) for golf, tennis and shooting offer the sports necessary equipment and the latest fashions for their sport.
  • Many fine specialty shops are also available at the Marina & Yacht Club. Here you will find great fashions, fine linens, jewelry, furniture, international newspapers and magazines plus everything needed for the mariner at sea along with beautiful decor for the home of landlubbers too.

Marina & Yacht Club - This new residential community at the mouth of the Chavon River and the Caribbean Sea opened December 2001. Along with fabulous villas and town homes right on the waters edge, here resort guests will also find more shopping and dining adventures, along with up close peaks at some of the finest vessels sailing the seas. See separate insert information.
Beginning November 2002, construction will begin on another 190 slips at the Marina & Yacht Club. These slips will be available for cruising vessels November 2004.

Altos de Chavon

Casa de Campo’s 16th century Mediterranean village replica, Altos de Chavon, is a most unique venue found in the Caribbean. With its fine resort restaurants, plazas and spectacular backdrops, this quaint working artist’s village is a popular location, where you can spend and entire day… or hold a wonderful family or group event.

The Cacique Conference Center. with four different rooms, has the facilities for banquets,
receptions, schoolroom and theatre style seating arrangements to accommodate groups
from 30 to 350 people.

  • Villa Home & Garden Tour - Groups can tour some of the $5-10 million dollar exclusive homes at Casa de Campo with bilingual tour guides who will point out some of the fabulous furniture, antiques and artwork while the gardeners show off some of the ornamental and native plants and shrubs. This ½ day tour ends at Altos de Chavon where participants get a behind the scenes tour of this working artists’ village.
  • Classes at Altos de Chavon - Become inspired and take part in instructional classes at his renowned artists’ village in the Caribbean. Learn “How to purchase Caribbean Art,” “How to Photograph Caribbean landscapes” and much more on these ½ day classes at this renowned artists’ village.

  • Caribbean Cooking Class – This popular group activity features instruction by one of the top chefs at Casa de Campo in the preparation of a Caribbean dish. Then after the lesson, class participants will enjoy a delectable lunch featuring their dish.
  • Least we forget other forms of group fun at Casa de Campo: Donkey Polo, Excursions by Land and Sea, Scavenger Hunts in Golf Carts and group clinics or tournaments in Golf, Tennis, Horseback Riding and Sporting Clays.
